Salone del Mobile 2022

sink 2

Finally after two years, the iconic Salon Del Mobile was up and running back at full capacity, and reports say it was bigger and better than the pre-covid shows. Unfortunately we were not able to attend this year, but we have put a round up of the three top events we would have made a beeline for…

Twenty by Tom Dixon

Celebrating twenty years of his studio, Tom Dixon put on a big show for us all – although the show stopper had to be the ‘mycelium tower’. Taken from their website, they describe… We discovered that Mycelium bound Hemp made an unusually effective scent diffusing material, and as a result we are experimenting with new means of enhancing the fresh fragrances that we have just developed.  Essentially a scented mushroom tower – that is something we would love to have seen!

IKEA Festival

Large enough to be a standalone event in its own right, the six day event involved installations, exhibitions and talks in collaboration with the likes of Marimekko, Ilse Crawford and Swedish House Mafia. The overarching theme focuses on how the relationship between people and their homes have evolved over time – very topical after the numerous lockdowns of the last two years.

Divided Layers gateway by Daniel Arsham

Arsham created a walkable interpretation of a sink made from seven stacked white panels arranged to form a tunnel. The installation was on display at Milan’s historic Palazzo del Senato, creating a beautiful contrast between the modern sculpture and tradition architecture.
